Abstract

This paper focuses its discussion on the phenomenon of theater performance in the New Normal Era. The emergence of the New Normal Era influenced the existence of theater performance. It has an impact to the emergence of new phenomena in theater performance. The purpose of this study focuses on the phenomenon of theater performance in the New Normal Era. The approach used in this research is the phenomenology approach developed by Edmund Husserl with relying on descriptive qualitative method. Based on the analysis, this research resulted in three findings. First, the use of social media as a place for show. Second, a changing in understanding of the meaning of theatrical stage performance. Third, the formation of a virtual interaction model between the performer and the audience in theater performance.
