Abstract
This study focuses its study on reporting on the energy crisis that is happening in the world which is published in the online media CNBCIndonesia.Com. This study aims to describe the meaning of the critical energy discourse contained in the news text entitled RI Kena Energy Crisis? It's Weird When It Happens! published on the online media CNBCIndonesia.Com. The theory used as a theoretical basis in conducting the analysis is the theory of Critical Discourse Analysis by Teun A. van Dijk. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Based on the analysis conducted, it was found that the text of the news tried to critically consider the condition of Indonesia in the midst of the energy crisis. This is due to the social cognition of the news writer who is Indonesian, and the social context of the news text produced. This can be seen in the discourse structure of the news text which contains a message of Indonesia's resilience in the midst of the energy crisis that is happening in the world.
