Abstract

This study discusses the existence of Indonesia. Indonesia is a country rich in culture, customs and traditions. This study focuses on cultural research in Desa Segaran, Kecamatan Tiris, Kabupaten Probolinggo. This village has a unique custom or tradition called Sandingan. Sandingan is a belief that is lifted from Hindu-Buddhist. This study uses ethnographic theory to facilitate the collection of data and information. Explain the theory used in the research. Symbolic interactionism is the theory adopted in this study. This theory is based on the views of Herbert Blumer. In this chapter there is a detailed description of the research, such as the culture of the place being studied, the traditions, and in particular about the tradition under study, namely Sandingan. There are several examples of theses that also do cultural research. Equipped with a theoretical framework in conducting research. The section describes in detail about the area under study. From data and regional maps, precisely in Probolinggo Regency, and focusing on Segaran Village. Have a complete explanation of data collection in research, such as research design, data source, data collection method, and also data analysis method. This chapter describes in detail the field data collection. The data loaded, in the form of data that is coherent and in accordance with the needs of the research. This chapter is the final result of a research. Includes messages aimed at future cultural researchers. There are suggestions and steps that must be followed before conducting further research. The process is arranged in a coherent manner. Explain the purpose and final conclusion of the research.
