Abstract

This research analyzed Discrimination of Moslem in American society on “Bulan Terbelah Di Langit Amerika” movie. The purpose of this study is (1) To identify of signified to discrimination of Moslem in American society. The scope of this research is the all movement, gesture, facial expression, and background, which representated discrimination of Moslem in American society and the limitation of this research is the sosiologi of literature analysis. In this research used the theory sosiologi of literature by Emile Durkheim that relevance between object with society. Emile Durkheim confident that he will be better able to find the roots of the religion by comparing a simple primitive societies than in the complex modern society. Emile Durkheim findings are that religion is the source of the community itself. Emile Durkheim finally concluded that society and religion (or more a collective unity generally) are one and the same. Religion is the way society shows itself in the form of non material social facts. Durkheim concluded that: "religion is a social problem". Emile Durkheim believed that "religion is the most primitive of all phenomena”. The finding showed that American society has the difference treatment to Moslem people. So, American society believe that terorist is a Moslem and the an attack at WTC is Moslem. The research hopes to give meaning about discrimination.
